Patchouli is a bushy herb that reach two or three feet high. It has small, pale pink-white flowers. The chemical components of patchouli oil are b-patchoulene, a-guaiene, caryophyllene, a-patchoulene, seychellene, a-bulnesene, norpatchoulenol, patchouli alcohol and pogostol. Patchouli oil is extracted by steam distillation of the leaves. The color of the oil will deepen from a light yellowish, pale red to a deep, dark amber upon aging, and the oil will become more and more viscous. Fresh patchouli essential oil has a sharp, green fragrance.

Patchouli oil is used as an aphrodisiac, used in hair care for dandruff and oily hair, for the nervous system, for skin problems such as acne, eczema, inflamed, cracked, chapped and irritated skin, dermatitis, psoriasis, as a cell rejuvenator, in healing wounds and scars, to treat athlete's foot, to reduce tension, insomnia, anxiety and stress, in medicines, for fatigue and frigidity, banishes lethargy, for fighting depression, it is effective for fungal and bacterial infections. With its excellent diuretic properties, it is effective in fighting water retention and to break up cellulite, easing constipation and helping to reduce overweight. Furthermore, it has a great deodorizing action, and cools down inflammations. On the skin, this oil is one of the most active and is a superb tissue regenerator.

Patchouli oil is used in perfumes, in incense, in insect repellents, in scented industrial products such as paper towels, laundry detergents, clothes and textiles and air fresheners. It is claimed to be a potent repellent against termites, it is used for rituals, in meditation, in cosmetics, in the flavoring industry, in foods and beverages, as an uplifting fragrance. It is also used in burners and vaporizers, as a blended massage oil or in the bath, and in lotions and creams.

The therapeutic properties of patchouli oil are antidepressant, antiphlogistic, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, astringent, cicatrisant, cytophylactic, deodorant, diuretic, febrifuge, fungicide, insecticide, sedative and tonic.

• The oldest use of aromatic oils is known to be as old as 6,000 years back when Egyptian physician, Imhotep, the then God of medicine and healing, recommended fragrant oils for bathing and massaging.
• In 4,500 B.C. Egyptians used Myrrh and Cedar wood oils for embalming their dead and 6,500 years later they preserved mummies.
• Romans utilized essential oils for pleasure and to cure pain and also for their popular perfumed baths and massages.
• Emperor Nero being indulgent in orgies, feasts and fragrances employed rose frequently to cure his headaches, indigestion and to maintain his high spirits while enjoying amusements.
• During the great plague in London in 1665, people burnt bundles of Lavender, Cedar wood and Cypress in the streets. This was their only defence to combat infectious diseases.
• Aromatherapy received a wider acceptance in the early twentieth century. In 1930s Rene- Maurice-Gatte Fosse, a french Chemist, dipped his burnt hand in Lavender oil. To his surprise the wound healed very quickly without any infection or scarring. He did considerable research on various oils and their therapeutic and psycho-therapeutic properties.
• Dr. Jean Volnet, French army surgeon extensively used essential oils in World War II. It was Madame Morquerite Murry who gave the holistic approach to aromatic oils by experimenting with them for individual problems.

The oil is extracted by solvent extraction of the pulp of the avocado fruit and is greenish in color with a faint odor. Avocado Oil has high concentrations of Vitamins A, D and E. It has the highest penetration rate and is comprised mostly of Oleic, Linoleic, and Linolenic acids, as well as Palmitic and Palmitoleic Acids, Lecithin, Phytosterol and Carnotinoids.

It is primarily used in cosmetics, hair conditioners and suntan lotions. It is used in the cosmetic industry because it soothes the skin and helps transport active substances into the skin.  It stabilizes oil-in-water emulsions, such as cleansing creams, moisturizers, lipsticks, makeup bases, bath oils, sunscreens and suntan lotions. It is effective as an emollient and carrier oil, treats minor skin irritations and is ranked as the best sunscreen by the Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology when compared to other naturally derived oils. It soothes sensitive skin, especially scaly skin and scalps and acts as a natural bactericidal.

Avocado oil is a popular ingredient in both cosmetics and soap-making due to its moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, and nourishing properties. In cosmetics, it's used in skincare products like lotions, creams, and serums to hydrate and soothe skin, and it can also be incorporated into hair products for shine and softness. In soap-making, avocado oil adds a gentle, moisturizing lather and helps to create a smoother, more nourishing bar of soap. 

Turmeric root oil, primarily composed of ar-turmerone, is extracted from turmeric rhizomes using steam distillation method. The oil is a pale yellow to orange-yellow liquid with a spicy, fresh, rooty odor. 

Turmeric root oil is used in the treatment of digestive and liver problems, to inhibit blood-clotting, relieve inflammatory conditions, help lower cholesterol levels. It has anti-cancer properties and also helps prevent hair loss. It is useful for arthritis and joint problems, in muscle and stomach pain.

Turmeric root oil is used in cosmetics and soaps for its potential skin-brightening, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. It's believed to help with various skin concerns like reducing blemishes, healing wounds, and promoting a healthy glow. Additionally, Turmeric oil can act as a natural moisturizer and may help with conditions like acne, eczema, and psoriasis. This oil is used in the food and pharma industry.

Cinnamon leaf essential oil is extracted from Cinnamomum zeylanicum and has a warm, spicy musky smell and the oil's color varies from yellow to light brown. The main chemical components of the essential oil, obtained from the leaves, are Eugenol, Eugenol Acetate, Cinnamic Aldehyde and Benzyl Benzoate. The tree is rust-colored and can grow up to 15 meters. It has shiny, leathery green leaves and small, white flowers, with oval shaped purple berries. The bark is pale brown and papery, with thick quills that roll inside one another, and is gathered every 2 years. The leaves are steam distilled. The leaves yield 1.6 - 1.8 % oil. The tree grows up to thirty feet tall with leaves that can be four to seven inches long.

Cinnamon oil helps fight exhaustion, helps in mental balance, is used for excessive bile, as a sedative during birth, for infections of the respiratory tract, general pains, for toning the whole body, for the nervous system, for clearing warts, for diarrhea, chills, infections, rheumatism and arthritis, for nausea and vomiting, for removing body toxins, for bruises, flatulence, sore muscles, stomach cramps, toothache, for menstrual problems, kidney troubles, and as a general stimulant, improves blood circulation, prevents unwanted clumping of blood platelets, induces sleep, destroys germs in the gall bladder and bacteria in staph infections, stops bleeding, for heart diseases, for colon cancer, for indigestion, for birth control, in the secretion of breast milk, in secretion and discharge of urine, arouses sexual desire and is theoretically useful to fight Listeria monocytogenes.

Cinnamon oil is used as flavouring agent in foods, in making perfumes, medicines, room fresheners, mouth washes, in body and skin care products, for controlling pests, in natural health products, in soaps and detergents, for massage, in diffusers, potpourri, air fresheners, in aromatherapy products, incense, light rings, laundry, facial steams and hair treatments, in aromatherapy, in candies, soufflés, as a food preservative, in candles, as a mosquitoe repellant, as an ingredient for mulled wines, for insect bites and mouth freshener perfumes.

It is antibacterial, antifungal, antibiotic, analgesic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, aphrodisiac, astringent, cardiac, carminative, emmenagogue, insecticide, stimulant, stomachic, tonic and vermifuge. It is anti-clotting, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anthelmintic, anti-diarrheal, antidote, antiputrescent, digestive, orexigenic, parasiticide, refrigerant, spasmolytic, anti-rheumatic and hemostatic.
